Opportunities for rethinking exposome & microbiome neurocosmetics

Presented by: Dr Olivier GOUIN,
Project Manager, OxiProteomics

Dermo-cosmetic research has made very significant advances in understanding the effects of intrinsic and extrinsic insults on skin. Extrinsic factors such as urban pollution, microbiote dysbiosis, as well as internal factors such as neurogenic inflammation or mood disorders have negative effects on skin wellness disrupting innate functions of epidermal barrier and delaying its repair and renewal.

A more in-depth study of skin-brain axis in what has been coined as “neurocosmetics” requires the use of specific models. Recent developments at OxiProteomics have opened the door to engage down this path.
